Hi vAdmins,
Today I started preparing for my VMUG session “Stay Certified: Overview into all new VMware’s VCP certifications and training” and I noticed that there was an update posted on the VMware Education Services – Certification website for the current VCP-VCF Administrator certification. To start with, the exam code has been changed to 2V0-11.25.
In order to prepare myself well for this exam, I consulted the exam guide and also compared it with the exam guide based on the exam 2V0-11.24.

After an initial observation, it came to my attention that adjustments have been made to the criteria for the Minimally Qualified Candidate. The requirement now highlights a minimum of 1 year of experience as opposed to the previous 6 months, emphasizing troubleshooting complex scenarios. And The candidate has advanced level experience working with vSphere and its command line but occasionally needs to research topics or request assistance.
Additionally, this (revised) examination format consist of 60 questions instead of 70. Successful completion leads to the certification as a VCP-VCF Administrator (excluding the year 2024).
While I anticipate minimal changes, I aim to arrange to take this exam promptly and will later recount my experience with you after gaining further insight.
Feel free to do the comparison yourself and draw your own conclusion 😉
The same training is also recommended for this version of this exam. See also my previous blog post for additional information and tips or tune in to my podcast for valuable insights on optimal preparation techniques..
I have now scheduled this specific exam for this week, so stay tuned!
End of this post.
